Full-Time | Morning Star Academy | Bonham, Texas
You Don't Have to Be a Teacher Yet.
Maybe you've always been the person who loves babies.
Maybe you're great with children but have never considered working in early childhood education.
Maybe you're looking for meaningful work and a place where you can learn, grow, and become part of a team.
We'd like to meet you.
Morning Star Academy is looking for a dependable, caring Infant/Toddler Assistant to join our Early Education team.
Experience with young children is helpful, but we can teach you the classroom part. What we can't teach is kindness, dependability, patience, a willingness to work hard, and a genuine desire to care well for children.
What You'll Do
You'll work alongside an experienced teacher to help:
- Provide a safe, loving, and nurturing environment for infants and toddlers.
- Care for children's daily needs, including feeding, diapering, comforting, and rest routines.
- Get down on the floor and play, sing songs, read books, build towers, make art, and explore alongside children.
- Help children develop independence and learn age-appropriate routines.
- Supervise children carefully and attentively.
- Prepare materials and help with classroom activities.
- Keep the classroom clean, organized, and ready for children.
- Follow health, safety, licensing, and Morning Star Academy procedures.
- Communicate positively with children, families, and coworkers.
- Support the classroom teacher and jump in wherever help is needed.
You Might Be a Great Fit If...
- Babies make you smile.
- You don't mind sitting on the floor—or getting messy.
- You are patient when a toddler needs to do something "all by myself."
- You notice when someone needs help without always having to be asked.
- You can stay calm when more than one child needs you at the same time.
- You are willing to learn.
- You are dependable and show up when people are counting on you.
- You enjoy working as part of a team.
- You want a job where what you do every day actually matters.
What Experience Do You Need?
Previous childcare experience is helpful, but not required for the right person.
We are willing to train someone who has the heart, character, dependability, and willingness to learn.
You will need to meet all Texas childcare licensing requirements and complete required training.
Why Morning Star Academy?
Working with infants and toddlers is real work. There are diapers. There are tears. There are messes. Some days are exhausting.
There are also first steps.
First words.
Tiny hands reaching for yours.
Children who light up when you walk into the room.
And families who trust you with someone they love more than anything in the world.
At Morning Star Academy, you'll have the opportunity to learn from experienced educators, participate in professional development, and grow in the field of early childhood education.
You'll also become part of a Christian school community committed to helping children Love God, Love Others, and Love Learning.
If you're looking for meaningful work and think you might have a heart for our littlest Lions, we'd love to meet you.
Compensation: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
